Huesca, Zaragoza, Teruel are the three provinces that make up the region of Aragon.
Aragon is bordered to the west by Castilla y Leon's province of Soria and the regions of La Rioja and Navarra. Valencia's provinces of Valencia and Castellon to the south west, Castilla la Mancha's provinces of Guadalajara and , Cuenca to the south east. The provinces of Lleida and Tarragona of Catalonia region to the east and France to the north.
The capital of Aragon is Zaragoza with over half the total population of the region.
Scenically one would be hard pushed to find a more diverse region than Aragon. To the north the Pyrenees and the Ordesa national park are quite majestic with many canyons, caves spectacular waterfalls and lakes (some of which are frozen). Eagles and vultures are native to this area. Further south about midway in the region, are lush valleys irrigated by the Ebro river. Agriculture includes Rye, Barley, Wheat, beef and lamb. Olive oil, and grapes are also grown. Economically, Aragon is one of the most successful regions in Spain, although it still has a thriving agriculture, industry and services have expanded in recent years.
Aragon's climate is varied according to the height of the land and can range from quite cool in the north near the pyrenees, to very warm in the southern valleys. There is also a mountain range (Sistema Iberico) separating Aragon from Castilla la Mancha. These mountains as well as the pyrenees provide excellent skiing and rock climbing areas.
