The autonomous region of Murcia lies in the southeast of the Spanish mainland. It borders Albacete, province of Castile-La Mancha Region in the north, Alicante province of the Valencian Community in the east, the Mediterranean sea in the south (Costa Calida), and Andalusia (Almeria province) in the west. Murcia region has just the one province and the city by the same name. The Costa Calida (Murcia's wonderful sandy beaches) are relatively unspoiled by tourism.
